Why might a photo stay over 100 KB?
A detailed image may need more bytes at its original pixels and format. The actual attempt is shown. You may download it marked as over the limit, or explicitly allow smaller dimensions and retry.
A LITTLE LESS FRICTION
Choose a photo to try the 100 KB limit. Check the result, then download. Your photo stays on your device.
JPEG, PNG or WebP · up to 25 MB and 24 megapixels
02 / CHOOSE A TASK
Print at the selected paper/photo size and turn off extra “fit to page” scaling. Results depend on your printer or lab.
50% halves both dimensions. File size is measured separately.
Enlarging cannot restore detail or guarantee print quality.
The target is a maximum, not an exact size. If it cannot be met at the selected dimensions, we tell you; we never reduce pixels silently.
1 KB = 1000 bytes · 1 MB = 1000000 bytes
This is a byte reduction, separate from width and height scaling.
Original reused only if no private metadata needs removal.
JPEG has no transparency. Choose a background before converting PNG or WebP; the background preview below shows it.

Only pixels, format, byte limits and requested JPEG density are checked. Composition, background, lighting, head proportions and capture origin are not checked. Approval is not guaranteed.
100 KB means 100,000 bytes here. The tool keeps the original pixel dimensions and format by default. If a result exceeds the limit, its actual size is shown; you can download that marked attempt or explicitly allow smaller dimensions and retry. Refreshing or switching language requires choosing the photo again.
| Input | Output | Pixels / format | 100 KB target |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,724,405 bytes | 99,173 bytes | 1200 × 1800 · JPEG | Met |
| 9,642,710 bytes | 106,757 bytes | 4000 × 3000 · JPEG | Not met |
100 KB is 100,000 bytes. These are measured examples, not a guarantee for another photo or browser. Full sample files and hashes are retained in the project review artifacts.
MADE TO BE SIMPLE
A detailed image may need more bytes at its original pixels and format. The actual attempt is shown. You may download it marked as over the limit, or explicitly allow smaller dimensions and retry.
The limit is 100,000 bytes. It is a maximum, not a promise of exactly 100 KB. Check the actual bytes before using the file.
You can try while keeping PNG transparency. The browser encoder may not meet the limit. Converting to JPEG removes transparency and first requires you to choose and confirm a background.
One still photo at a time. HEIC, GIF, animated PNG/WebP and unusual color workflows are not supported. Up to 8192 px per side, 24 MP input, 16 MP output, 25 MB input. Smaller photos work better on phones.
